At America's Most Exciting Bank we understand that being a committed community partner is about more than writing a check, it's about rolling up our sleeves and taking action. We provide our employees with paid time off to be part of the XTEAM, our nationally renowned and award winning Employee Volunteer Program. The program began in 2008 and undertakes community service projects that employees participate in during regular business hours and on weekends.  The XTEAM is open to all the company's employees and is overseen by Regional Employee Volunteer Committees that select projects and guide the program. Our local committees help ensure that the projects we participate in are impactful and responsive to local community needs and opportunities.

The XTEAM is a central part of our corporate culture at Berkshire Bank and is an extension of our R.I.G.H.T. core values. Our employees value the experience participating in the program provides them and the impact they are able to have on the community.

Program operation and accomplishments:
Over four hundred volunteer projects benefiting non-profit organizations or governmental entities have been carried out in every region served by Berkshire Bank since the program's inception. Each year:

  • 70% employee participation
  • Over 40,000 hours of community service all on the company dime
  • Nearly three hundred thousand lives impacted
  • Over $1 million in donated volunteer time

Submit Idea/Request for Volunteer Project:
The XTEAM is always looking for suggestions for projects to undertake in the local communities where we live and work. If you have any recommendations, please contact the Foundation office at foundation@berkshirebank.com so we can share your project with our local teams.
