At America's Most Exciting Bank we understand that being a committed community partner is about more than writing a check, it's about rolling up our sleeves and taking action. We provide our employees with paid time off to be part of the XTEAM, our nationally acclaimed and award winning Employee Volunteer Program. The program began in 2008 and undertakes community service projects that employees participate in during regular business hours and on weekends. The XTEAM is open to all the company's employees and is implemented by Regional Employee Volunteer Committees that select projects and guide the program. Our local committees help ensure that the projects we participate in reflect local community needs, employees' interests and generate a positive impact.
The XTEAM is a central part of our corporate culture at Berkshire Bank and is an extension of our R.I.G.H.T. core values. Our employees value the experience participating in the program provides them and the impact they are able to have on the community.
Program operation and accomplishments:
Over 1,000 volunteer projects benefiting non-profit organizations or governmental entities have been carried out in every region served by Berkshire Bank in the last five years. Each year the program features:
- Nearly 100% employee participation

- Over $1 million in donated volunteer time
Annually, non-profits report that XTEAM service projects help them serve more individuals, improve their facilities, redirect resources to other mission critical projects, offer higher quality services and achieve their missions.
