Berkshire Bank Foundation, Inc. and Berkshire Bank Foundation - Legacy Region Grant Application

Berkshire Bank Foundation, Inc. and Berkshire Bank Foundation - Legacy Region are the charitable arms of Berkshire Bank. Their missions are to strengthen and improve the quality of life in the communities where Berkshire Bank does business.

Berkshire Bank Foundation Inc.: Serves all of Berkshire County and the Pioneer Valley in Massachusetts and areas in Southern Vermont and New York State where Berkshire Bank has offices. The Foundation supports education and community/economic development projects that enhance opportunities for children and adults that primarily benefit low and moderate income populations.

Berkshire Bank Foundation -Legacy Region: (Formerly the Legacy Banks Foundation) serves Berkshire County only. This foundation focuses on education and community/economic development projects that enhance opportunities for children and adults in Berkshire County.

Please review Grant application guidelines here before applying.

When applying for Foundation support, please remember the following:

  • The Foundation's only can support 501(c)(3) organizations. If you are not a 501(c)(3) organization you must submit your request to Berkshire Bank on the Bank’s Sponsorship Request Form located on a link to your left.
  • Applicants requesting $1,500 or less should fill out the Grant Application Form, attach a project letter, and a copy of your 501(c)(3) tax exempt determination letter.
  • Applicants requesting more than $1,500 should fill out the Grant Application Form and submit ALL of the required attachments listed below.
  • Application requests for less than $5,000 are accepted on a rolling basis. Applications for more than $5,000 are accepted on a quarterly basis and are due on the first of March, June, September, and December.

Please complete the grant application below including ALL of the required attachments in to be considered for funding. Once you begin the application you can not save it. If your application is submitted successfully then you will receive a "Thank You" confirmation screen.

ATTACHMENTS

Please submit the following attachments to complete your grant application. In order to attach a document, do the following:

  1. Save the document on your hard drive on the computer
  2. Click “Browse” below.  Your files will appear.  Select file.  It will appear in the box on application
  3. Click on next Browse box and repeat procedure.
  4. When all attachments are in place and application form filled out, click on “Submit” and application will be sent.

Note: Please only submit files created in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx), Microsoft Excel (.xls or .xlsx), images (.jpg, .jpeg or .gif) and PDFs.

FOR REQUESTS OF $1,500.00 OR LESS PLEASE SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING:
Project Letter
Describe your proposed project by providing a project description, purpose, timetable, goals, cost, and impact in a 1-2 page narrative format and attach the document to this application. Please also include a copy of your 501©3 tax exempt determination letter.
FOR REQUESTS MORE THAN $1,500.00 PLEASE SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING:
(1) Project Information

Describe your proposed project by answering the following in a 2 to 3 page
narrative format and attach the document to this application:

a. Project description, purpose, timetable, goals, & impact
b. Description of organization and basic services offered
c. Who the project will serve. (# Beneficiaries, income groups, age groups, etc.)
d. How the project will impact the beneficiaries and the community.
e. How the outcome of the project will be evaluated and measured.
f. Other sources of funding and amounts being sought for project.
g. How the Foundation’s support will be recognized.

(2) Proposed Line Item Budget for Project
(3) Copy of organization's 501©3 tax exempt determination letter
(4) Copy of organization's current budget indicating sources of funding
(5) List of Board of Directors
