Important Information about your deposit account if you have a Social Security Administration (SSA) direct deposit
YOU MUST provide your new Berkshire Bank account number and routing number to ensure you do not miss or delay your Social Security Administration (SSA) direct deposit.

You may update your information with the Social Security Administration online. If you update your information on-line the change will take effect within 24-48 hours.

You may also call the Social Security Administration at 800-772-1213 to make your account change, however expect a 30 minute hold time or a call back to your phone number.

Attention Personal and Small Business online banking customers:

Starting Tues., Jan. 21 at 8:00 am ET, if you are an active Bank of America online banking customer, you may access Personal and Small Business online banking. Click Here.

The first time you log in to online banking, enter your current Bank of America User ID using all lower-case letters. Your temporary Berkshire Bank password will be the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number. You will be prompted to change this password on the next screen and to accept Berkshire Bank’s terms and conditions.

Instead of the challenge questions you used in the past with Bank of America, you will be asked to validate your identity through a one-time security code via a telephone call or SMS message.

If you do not have access to a phone, you will be asked to answer a series of out-of-wallet questions to validate your identity.

Attention Business Solutions Online Banking Customers:

To ensure a smooth transition to Berkshire Bank, after your first login, on or after Tues., Jan. 21, please:

  • Review your Bill Pay account to verify your primary funding account, payees and payments transferred to Berkshire Bank correctly.
  • Re-establish e-bills.
  • Review your recurring payments after your first login.

  • How can I activate my new Berkshire Bank debit/ATM card?  To activate your new card, make a PIN-based transaction at any participating merchant, use it at any Berkshire Bank or NYCE® ATM or, if you prefer, you can activate your card through Berkshire Bank’s telephone banking system; just have your PIN ready and call 888.685.8300, choose option 7 and then press 1 to activate your card.
