Berkshire Bank debit and ATM cards come with added security whether you’re making a payment at a retailer or using an ATM.

What is chip card technology?
Chip card technology improves the security of card transactions by adding a computer chip that has multiple layers of security, making it more difficult for your card to be copied or counterfeited.

When will I receive my new chip card?
When your debit card is scheduled to expire, you will receive this new chip card in the mail.

Can I use my chip card online and at ATMs?
Yes, you can use your chip card online and at all ATMs. Depending on the requirements of the merchant, the online checkout process may change.

Will my chip card work out of state and in other countries?
Yes, but before traveling you will need to let us know when and where you are traveling so that we can place a note on your card. To let us know, send us a secure message from within online banking (choose ‘Contact Us’ under the Customer Service tab), call us directly at 800.773.5601 or stop into any branch location.

What if I have more than one debit card with Berkshire Bank?
For every debit card you currently have active with us, you will receive a new chip enabled MasterCard®.

Will my PIN change?
No. If the card is being reissued due to it expiring/damaged, the PIN will NOT change.
