We Never Want You to be Inconvenienced or Embarrassed by a Declined ATM or
Debit Card Transaction

Important Account Changes

New federal rules went into effect on August 15th, 2010 that now require you to "opt-in" and give us permission to cover your ATM and everyday debit card overdraft, even if we’ve done so in the past.

Why Opt-In?

To keep the same features that you enjoyed in the past it is essential that you provide your opt-in consent. We offer most of our customers the protection of overdrawing their account from time to time, because life doesn't always go according to plan.

While there is no fee for overdraft protection unless it is used, most of our customers like having this service available. Make sure your debit card will work the next time you go out to eat, fill up with gas, buy groceries, or pick up a prescription.

What Does it Mean for You?

Stay Protected — But You Need To Let Us Know

If you have not opted-in, we had no choice but to have removed you from this service, effective August 15, 2010. That means we will not be able to approve debit and ATM card overdrafts, even if we have done this in the past.

We value your relationship and want to continue providing the excellent service you expect from Berkshire Bank.
