Berkshire Bank Foundation Awards Over $170,000 To Forty-Five Berkshire Nonprofits

PITTSFIELD, MA, November 7, 2016 – Berkshire Bank Foundation is excited to announce that it has awarded $173,375 in grants and pledges to forty five nonprofit organizations in Berkshire County during their third quarter grants cycle.

The funding from Berkshire Bank Foundation supported a variety of organizations, some of which include:

  • Boys & Girls Clubs of the Berkshires, Pittsfield, MA - received a grant to purchase a new Zamboni.
  • Norman Rockwell Museum, Stockbridge, MA - received a grant to support the Berkshire County High School Art Show & Naturalization Ceremony.
  • The Christian Center, Pittsfield, MA - received a grant to help replace windows at the center.
  • Elizabeth Freeman Center, Pittsfield, MA - received a grant to support their Walk a Mile event and Money School.
  • Railroad Street Youth Project, Great Barrington, MA - received a grant to support their Youth Apprenticeship Program.
  • Elder Services of Berkshire County,Pittsfield, MA - received a grant to support their elder nutrition meals on wheels program.

In addition to financial support, XTEAM®, Berkshire Bank's nationally acclaimed Employee Volunteer Program, provides employees with paid time off to volunteer during regular business hours. Aside from their ongoing volunteer projects, Bank employees recently completed their Xtraordinary Day of Service in June in which 95% of the company's employees donated over 4,500 hours of service to benefit 54 organizations across the Bank's service area. The volunteer program is another way for the Bank to give back to the communities it serves.
