Berkshire Bank Launches the Center for Women, Wellness, and Wealth (CWWW)

 

Boston, MA - Mon., May 9, 2022 – Berkshire Bank, a leading socially responsible community bank with office locations in New England and New York, announces the launch of the Center for Women, Wellness, and Wealth (CWWW). The Center will offer client-focused events on wellness and financial planning, and will partner with community organizations, specialized experts and thought leaders. Collectively, the Center will inspire action to build greater financial stability, alignment and opportunity for women and Berkshire’s broader communities. Initiatives will also include impact conversations, philanthropic coaching and development support, wellness programs, and complimentary portfolio reviews offered by Berkshire Bank Wealth Management.  
 
To launch the CWWW, Berkshire Bank will host the Inaugural Women in Leadership Luncheon on May 11 at the Wilson House in Dorset, Vermont in conjunction with the Southwestern Vermont Chamber of Commerce.  
 
“The Center for Women, Wellness, and Wealth will provide tools to instill greater confidence and actionable steps to build a future enriched with financial stability, balance and growth.  Transformative wealth management centers on wellness.  Through programs and educational opportunities, we will lead in our commitment to advance preparedness and long-term planning, and address the longevity risk that women face,” said Kathryn Hersey, Berkshire Bank’s Director of Wealth Management and Chief Investment Officer.
 
Highlights and initiatives of the Center include:

  • Thought leadership and impact conversations:  The CWWW will host a series of impact conversations on topics such as socially responsible investing, financial wellness, and retirement planning.  On June 16th, Berkshire Bank will sponsor the Worcester Women’s Leadership Conference and three senior leaders will speak at the conference, including Hersey who will present on a panel: Know Your (Net) Worth – How to Secure Your Financial Future.
  • Alliance with Kripalu: : A collaboration with Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, the leader in yoga and mindful based education, based in the Berkshires will offer a series of programs for Berkshire Bank clients, employees and the public including:
    • Online and In-Person wellness programs:  The first program, Spring Cleaning, Ayurveda-style, will be held virtually on May 24th at 3pm EST, and will focus on how to declutter your mind and daily life led by Erin Casperson, a lead faculty member at Kripalu.
    • Retreat and Renewal day passes for Berkshire Bank Wealth Management clients: Kripalu’s signature self-guided retreat offers hiking, kayaking, yoga, dance, and three all-natural meals from the Kripalu Kitchen.
    • Kripalu RISE: Support from the Berkshire Bank Foundation enables community organizations and constituents to benefit from Kripalu’s signature resilience building program centered on stress management and building positivity and productivity.
  • Complimentary financial health checks and portfolio reviews: Community members receive complimentary financial health checks or portfolio reviews through the Berkshire Bank Wealth Management team.
  • Personalized service with no minimum in assets under management: In line with the bank’s socially responsible mission, Berkshire Bank Wealth Management requires no minimum in assets to start a relationship.
  • Philanthropic support: Berkshire Bank Foundation provided financial support to organizations advancing women’s priorities, including the YWCA of Central Massachusetts, Dress for Success Western Massachusetts, Budget Buddies Inc., and the Vermont Women’s Fund. Berkshire Bank Foundation’s core priority of investing in programs that foster a pathway to upward economic mobility and overall well-being will be supported through a portion of Wealth Management income derived from the Center’s activity.

 
Additionally, Berkshire will transform its client experience by providing coaching to all of its Wealth Advisors to focus interactions on holistic wellness and planning for life events. The training will be provided by Kathleen Burns Kingsbury, wealth psychology expert, author, and coach, through her firm, KBK Wealth Connection.
