Berkshire Bank Names Richard Thall First Vice President,
Regional Branch Manager for Central and Eastern Massachusetts

BOSTON (December 8, 2020) – Berkshire Bank, a purpose-driven community bank with locations primarily in New England and New York, announced the promotion of Richard Thall to First Vice President, Regional Branch Manager for Central and Eastern Massachusetts. Mr. Thall, who joined Berkshire Bank in 2017, was previously Assistant Vice President (AVP) and Branch Officer at the 560 Park Ave. Branch in Worcester. In 2018, he was appointed to the Bank’s Retail Leadership Council, which is responsible for Bank initiatives and assessing and developing changes to help the overall functions of the branch network.

In his new role, Mr. Thall will oversee all 19 branches in the Central and Eastern Massachusetts region, where he will manage a team of 18 Branch Officers. He will be responsible for overall staff management, sales performance, customer experience and operational excellence. Mr. Thall will report to Brian Sullivan, Senior Vice President (SVP), Retail Branch Banking.

Mr. Thall has more than 17 years in retail banking. He joined Berkshire Bank in 2017 as part of the merger with Commerce Bank, recently serving as AVP and Branch Manager at the Fenway Branch in Boston, and most recently as AVP and Branch Officer at 560 Park Ave Branch in Worcester. Previously, he served as AVP and Branch Manager at Commerce Bank, Branch Manager for Santander Bank and Vice President and Banking Center Manager at Bank of America. Mr. Thall holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from SUNY New Paltz. He is involved in the community through the Worcester Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Webster Square Business Association and the Worcester Technical High School Advisory Board.
