Refer a Friend Disclosure

Berkshire Bank Referrer- Existing Berkshire Bank customers making a referral ("Referrer") will receive $100 for each eligible individual referred to Berkshire Bank (“Referred Person”) who is a new customer without an existing Berkshire Bank relationship, who utilizes the personalized link provided by the Referrer to open a Berkshire One checking account, successfully submits the application using the referral code by December 31^st, 2024, and completes the other requirement specified below. Other Berkshire Bank checking products do not qualify. The initial Referrer may receive up to a maximum of $400 within a calendar year for participating in the Refer a Friend program. “Calendar Year” is a one-year period that begins on January 1^st and ends on December 31^st.

To make a referral, the Referrer must be logged in to their online banking profile:

Through the browser: Click on the Refer a Friend Today! tile located under the Net worth graph on the dashboard or click on Tools and select Refer a Friend.

1. Click “Send an invite” and your default email browser will pop up to send your personalized link to eligible individuals; or
2. Click “or copy your referral link”, open your email browser, compose an email, and send the personalized link to eligible individuals.

Through the app: Click on the Refer a Friend tile located at the bottom of the home screen or click on More and select Refer a Friend located under Services.

1. Click “Share your code” to send your personalized link to eligible friends and family members via text or email.

The personalized link must be sent to the Referred Person prior to account opening and it must be utilized by the Referred Person for both parties to receive credit.
 
Referred Person- To qualify and receive the $100 credit, the Referred Person must:

1. Be a new customer without an existing Berkshire Bank relationship; and
2. Utilize the personalized link provided through email or text by the Referrer to open a Berkshire One checking account and successfully submit the application by December 31^st, 2024; and
3. Have a combined Direct Deposit total of $500 or more per month for three (3) consecutive months into their Berkshire One Checking account.  

Please ensure the unique referral code you received via email or text is accurately listed in the designated referral code box during the account opening process. If the referral code is not listed correctly or missing, the referral credit will not be applied to either account.

Maximum Credits- The Referrer can receive a maximum of $400 in credits per calendar year. The Referred Person will receive $100 for opening a Berkshire One checking account. The Referred Person may also become a Referrer and then qualify for up to an additional $400 in credits per calendar year for a total of up to $500. Refer a Friend credits can be combined with other Berkshire Bank offers.

Eligibility and Exclusions- These Refer a Friend credits are only valid with the Berkshire One checking product. Must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible for credit. Only one Referrer may receive credit for each Referred Person who fulfills the offer requirement and is based on the referral code entered during account application. A Referrer can receive only one $100 credit per individual referred. The Refer-A-Friend credit is only available if the Referred Person does not have an existing Berkshire Bank relationship. The Referred Person is not eligible for additional credits in the case of multiple new checking accounts. The Referred Person is eligible to become a Referrer and qualify for credits. The Referrer and Referred Person cannot be the same person or joint account holder. All account specific qualifications must be met to qualify for credits. The program may be discontinued or changed at any time without notice.

Credit Information- The Referred Person’s Berkshire One checking account must remain open, active, and in good standing. The account must also have a combined direct deposit total of $500 or more per month for three (3) consecutive months. Once that timeframe has passed, Berkshire Bank will deposit the $100 credit into the Referred Person’s account and the $100 credit into the Referrer’s account. The Referrer and Referred Person will see the credit reflected in their statements with the description “Berkshire One Refer-A-Friend Credit”. The Refer a Friend credits may be reportable to the IRS on Form 1099-MISC.

Status of Incentive- Referrers and Referred Persons have privacy rights and acknowledge that by participating in the Refer a Friend program, they are revealing that they have a relationship with Berkshire Bank.

This Refer a Friend campaign is scheduled to end on December 31^st, 2024. Any accounts that are opened using a referral link after December 31^st, 2024, will not be eligible for the Refer a Friend credit under the above terms.

In addition, Berkshire Bank may refuse payment to a Referrer or Referred Person under the program if it has a good faith belief that the individual has provided false, misleading, or deceptive information while participating in the Refer a Friend program or establishing corresponding accounts.
