Kathryn Hersey, CFA®, Senior Vice President, Director of Wealth Management and Chief Investment Officer
Kathryn Hersey is Senior Vice President, Director of Wealth Management, and Chief Investment Officer at Berkshire Bank. Ms. Hersey is responsible for providing leadership in all aspects of Wealth Management, including client relationship management, financial planning, investment management, trust and estate administration, operations, and business development.
Prior to joining Berkshire Bank, Ms. Hersey was Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager for Cambridge Trust Company in Boston, MA. She has over twenty years of professional experience spanning the private and public sector.
Ms. Hersey earned a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and English from Amherst College where she captained the women’s soccer and basketball teams. She earned a Master of Business Administration, summa cum laude, from Babson College’s F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. Ms. Hersey is a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society and the CFA Institute. Ms. Hersey is committed to volunteerism, serving as a YMCA of Greater Boston volunteer coach and as a former member of The Philanthropy Connection, a women’s collective giving group. She was inducted into the Westford Academy Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004 and the New England Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.

Stephen Crowley, Vice President, Relationship Manager
Stephen Crowley is a Vice President, Relationship Manager at Berkshire Bank. He is responsible for developing programming and solutions that focus on non-profit organizations and socially responsible investments. Stephen is also responsible for working with individuals to help them achieve their financial goals.
Stephen has over 25 years of experience in investment management and providing financial advice and guidance to clients. Prior to joining Berkshire Bank, Stephen served as a Senior Relationship Manager for BNY Mellon. In that role, he advised institutional clients and non-profit organizations with respect to investment policy and asset allocation. Stephen has extensive experience managing non-profits and charitable trust accounts for colleges and universities.
Stephen earned his Bachelor's degree from Connecticut College in Economics and English Literature, a Master's degree in Economics from Boston University, and an MBA in Finance from Boston University. Stephen actively volunteers as both a youth hockey and youth baseball coach, and for eight years was the Treasurer of the Parent Teacher Organization in his hometown.

Derek Hall serves as Vice President, Portfolio Manager with Berkshire Bank Wealth Management. Derek has been with Berkshire Bank since 2002. Derek is responsible for trading, portfolio management and investment operations. Active in his community, Derek serves on the Hospitality Committee and Children’s Ministries at his local church.

Karen Heston, CFP®, First Vice President, Wealth Portfolio Manager & Market Strategist
Karen has extensive experience as an investment specialist and client wealth advisor. As a First Vice President, Wealth Portfolio Manager & Market Strategist at Berkshire Bank, she will apply her expertise in global financial markets and wealth management to help individual and institutional clients achieve their financial goals.
Prior to joining Berkshire Bank, Karen served as a Senior Financial Advisor for Martha’s Vineyard Investment Advisors, LLC. In that role she advised individual clients and island non-profit organizations with respect to investment policy, asset allocation, portfolio risk management, and retirement planning strategies. As a Managing Partner of Sage Capital Management, LLC, Karen worked for over two decades as an investment portfolio manager in Sage’s market-neutral convertible bond strategy. She began her career as an interest rate risk management specialist working on the top trading desks of several NYC money center banking institutions.
Karen received her BA from Middlebury College, Vermont, and MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business. She is also a CFP® professional and works with advisory clients in a fiduciary capacity.

Prior to joining Berkshire Bank, he was a wealth advisor at Minot Wealth, an Executive Director at J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank and a Senior Vice President at Merrill Lynch.

Andrew Prancl, Vice President, Wealth Portfolio Manager
Andrew Prancl serves as Vice President, Portfolio Manager with Berkshire Bank Wealth Management. Andrew has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry with knowledge and expertise in investment management, strategic asset allocation, portfolio construction and global financial markets.
Prior to joining Berkshire Bank, Andrew was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs Ayco Personal Financial Management having served in a variety of roles in fixed income portfolio management, trading, and market strategy. In addition, he held positions as senior trader for managed account services and as a client relations officer. Early in his career, Andrew was a financial consultant with Merrill Lynch and a marketing representative with American International Group.
Andrew received his MBA from the University at Albany, and BS in finance from Siena College. He actively volunteers as a youth baseball coach, a CYO basketball volunteer, and has served on the board of directors for Guilderland Youth Baseball for the past nine years.

Anthony Segala, CAP®, Vice President, Investment Advisor
Anthony Segala is Vice President, Relationship Manager at Berkshire Bank. He is responsible for business development efforts throughout the bank footprint and will also focus on client relationship management.
Anthony has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry working for several leading financial firms including Putnam Investments, Pioneer Investments and Fidelity Investments. Over that time, he has acquired an extensive knowledge of capital markets, investments, asset allocation, and charitable planning strategies. Prior to joining Berkshire Bank, he was VP, Regional Director - Western Region for Congress Asset Management. In that role he was responsible for business development and relationship management efforts throughout the West Coast. Before that, he was VP, Charitable Planning Consultant with Fidelity Charitable Services, where he provided charitable planning strategies for high-net-worth individuals.
Anthony received his BA from Connecticut College in Environmental Studies and holds the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) designation. He has also obtained his FINRA series 7, 6, & 63 licenses.

Penrose Hallowell, Senior Associate Portfolio Manager, ESG Analyst
Pen is a Senior Associate Portfolio Manager and ESG Analyst at Berkshire Bank. Pen is responsible for researching and analyzing companies and investment opportunities from an ESG and financial performance standpoint. He provides investment input to the Investment Committee.
Previously, Pen worked as an Analyst for San Francisco based Buckhill Capital and worked as an Assistant with the Screening, Deal Development, and Media teams at Maine Angels in New England. Pen’s work with Angel and Venture Capital investing exposed him to a wide range of investment styles and companies. Pen is also actively involved with conservation groups and nonprofits such as The Elkhorn Marine Conservancy, Chocorua Lake Conservancy, and The Explorers Club.
Pen graduated from Colby College with a major in Environmental Science and a minor in Managerial Economics and is currently pursuing his MBA at Boston College Carroll School of Management.
