Courtesy Paysm may help you avoid the consequences of returned items. If your checking account qualifies for Courtesy Pay, we will consider, without obligation on our part, payment of occasional or inadvertent overdrafts created by check, in-person withdrawal, ATM withdrawal, or other electronic means for which your account has insufficient or unavailable funds up to a Courtesy Pay overdraft limit. With Courtesy Pay, your checks and other eligible transaction types will be considered for payment with your Courtesy Pay limit, rather than being automatically returned unpaid, as long as you maintain your account in good standing.
You need to bring your account balance positive promptly, or upon our demand. If you are not able to repay as we require, you will receive a letter informing you of your options. If, after a period of time, your account has not been brought into a positive balance, we will have no option but to close your account and take steps to recover the funds.
Overdraft Protection for your ATM transactions and debit card purchases.
The convenience of Courtesy Pay is available for your ATM transactions and everyday non-recurring debit card and POS transactions (if you have opted in). Rather than automatically declining your ATM transactions and debit card purchases when there are insufficient funds in your account, we will consider payment of reasonable overdrafts.
Courtesy Pay can mean...
- Protection for ATM transactions and everyday non-recurring debit card and POS transactions (if opted in)
- Avoiding the hassle and expense of a returned check
- Less aggravation
- Payment of your overdrafts up to:
- $750 for personal checking accounts
- $1500 for business checking accounts
For each overdraft we pay, we will charge the standard per item overdraft set forth in our Common Features Fee Schedule (currently $35.00). In addition, a Continuous OD (overdraft) Fee of $35.00 will be imposed every five (5) business days until you bring your account positive. This fee is applied to your account when it has been overdrawn for five or more consecutive business days. A maximum of five charges or $175 will be charge for each time period your account remains in a negative status. Other fees can lead to a negative balance, which can lead to additional fees.
Important: To avoid an overdraft, you can stop any ATM/debit card transaction by pressing “cancel” at any time prior to completing a withdrawal, transfer or purchase. We are not promising to always pay your overdrafts with this discretionary service, not all accounts are eligible, and some restrictions do apply.
