It's always a good idea to be extra cautious.
1. Never provide your personal information in response to an unsolicited request.
This includes over the phone, by text or online. Berkshire Bank and other financial institutions will never ask you to verify your account information or confirm a password online. Thieves armed with this information and your account number can help themselves to your money. And be aware that emails and web pages created by phishers can look exactly like the authentic secure emails and web pages they impersonate. If you did not initiate the communication, do not provide any information.
2. If you are unsure whether a message is legitimate, contact us.
We're here to help you every way possible. You should be the one to initiate contact, using information you have verified yourself.
3. Review account statements regularly to ensure all charges are correct.
If you receive a paper account statement and it is late arriving or does not arrive, call us immediately. You can always keep tabs on your accounts–and enroll in eStatements–through Online Banking.
Berkshire Bank is a full-service financial institution with branches in MA, CT, VT, NY, and RI.
