• Routing numbers are also known as banking routing numbers, routing transit numbers, RTNs, ABA numbers, and SWIFT codes.

This is a three-digit number on Visa, Mastercard and Discover credit and debit cards and a four-digit number on American Express credit or debit cards.

• Your CVV number is located on the back of Visa, Mastercard and Discover cards, just above your signature. It's on the front of American Express cards, just above the card account number.(See below.)
• You'll need to provide your CVV number during an online or telephone transaction to prove have the physical credit or debit card. This helps reduce fraud.
• CVV numbers are not your card's secret PIN (Personal Identification Number). You should never enter your PIN when asked to provide your CVV.
• CVV numbers may also be known as CSC numbers (Card Security Code) or CVV2 numbers.
